Backstep Merch started the same way a lot of firehouse ideas do — around the kitchen table, in the bay, and on the backstep between calls.
What began as a few sticker designs built around firehouse humor and culture quickly turned into crews asking for custom designs for their own stations, apparatus, and departments.
As the requests kept growing, so did the problem:
Everyone needed something different, but there was never one reliable place to get it all done right.
One guy made patches. Another guy did apparel. Someone else engraved tumblers. Another shop handled signs or printing.
Departments were stuck bouncing between vendors trying to piece projects together themselves.
So we built the Backstep Network.
Backstep Merch is a firefighter-owned network of specialized shops, designers, creators, and trusted vendors working together to help departments, crews, and organizations find and create the gear they need — all in one place.
From custom stickers and patches to apparel, laser engraving, signs, station merchandise, and completely custom projects, our goal is simple:
